Living Altar is an interactive installation of mixed-media sculptures and a large, slowly-decaying altar made of flowers, fruits, plants, shells, brunches, and other organic materials. These elements elevate the overarching ceremonial aspect of Guevara’s work to invite and incorporate the viewer as an active participant into her ritualistic space where the mystery of both life and death are explored and celebrated.
